Yala National Park is Sri Lanka’s most popular tourist attraction. No violence in Yala has occurred since the May 2009 end of the civil war, and this was a major factor in the decision to open blocks III and V to tourists. 5.30 am – 6.30 pm is the time when visitors can see the wild animals in their natural habitats. A future strategy on drought management has not yet been established.
